Transform Learning Through Adventure

Our mission is to help raise a joyful generation of doers who will turn into our leaders, innovators, and inventors.

At our open learning environment, learners learn from each other in a supportive space that values different skills and abilities, while mixed ages foster social-emotional skills that help them connect with people of all ages.

Cultivate friendships and real-world skills by solving real-world problems. This project-based learning approach has been proven to challenge learners in very positive ways while helping them retain more information and develop resilience.

Engaging Quests

Children will be able to work on their core lessons at their own pace allowing their strengths to excel and more time for what may feel more difficult via our badge system.

Socratic Circles will challenge their critical thinking so they’re ready to change the world.

Mastery Focused

Illustration of a young girl with curly hair holding a doll, wearing a yellow top and orange skirt.

Most learners who are bored and anxious feel they are not challenged in school. Our approach encourages children to embrace hard things and set personal learning goals based on their passions, so they can discover their true potential.

Learner Driven

“Our role as adults is not to force them to follow the track we’ve laid out for them; it’s to help them develop the skills to figure out the track that’s right for them.”

- William Stixrud & Ned Johnson

Village Culture

Our village culture is based on the principles that Freedom Family is using to end the loneliness crisis. They have three books that helps define their culture and so do we! Each family that enrolls in the Freedom Thinkers School will be required to read the three books below.

Required Reading

Describing in fantastically fun detail how people who still live in tribes & villages work together on key principles while raising and educating their children using tried and true methods that have worked for thousands of years. This book is foundational to our school’s culture. It’s also available as an audio book and in Spanish.

Cover of the book 'The Secrets of Happy Families' by Bruce Feiler, featuring a house silhouette with text highlighting family-related tips.

A great overall view of how awesome families can be when they work together. We’ll be incorporating several chapters he touches upon into our school with family mission statements, family meetings, agile project management, your family history in stories, how to fight well, bonding over reunions, and doing hard things together! Also available as an audio book.

Book cover for "Thomas Jefferson Education for Teens" by Oliver DeMille and Shanon Brooks, featuring a young man in a striped shirt holding books.

This book is a look back at a portion of how our founding fathers were taught. Our hero’s journey craves complexity plus meaning in life. This book is great at inspiring adults & teens to enjoy the journey that is life while finding ways to critically think deeply about what is going on in the world around them!
